Building Feminist Communities Across Borders brought together over 200 women from 12 countries in Rome for three days of conversation, celebration, and strategic thinking about what solidarity looks like in practice.
The Organising Question
Feminist movements have always crossed borders — but doing so well requires more than shared values. It requires trust, honest disagreement, and the willingness to be changed by encounter with difference.
- Day one focused on mapping the landscape: what challenges are we each navigating, and where do our contexts diverge?
- Day two moved into working sessions on specific themes: intergenerational dialogue, digital organising, and institutional change.
- Day three was given over to celebration, storytelling, and the articulation of shared commitments going forward.

What Participants Said
Post-event feedback highlighted the quality of facilitation, the generosity of participants in sharing difficult realities, and the value of having unstructured time built into the programme. Several ongoing collaborations emerged from conversations that began over meals.
