Culture, Identity, and the Feminist Imagination is an online gathering exploring how the stories we tell — in literature, film, education, and media — shape what women believe is possible for themselves and for their communities.
Why Culture?
Economic and legal change is necessary but not sufficient. Culture shapes the interior landscape: the assumptions we carry about who we are allowed to be, what we are permitted to want, and whose stories are worth telling.
This event brings together writers, educators, filmmakers, and cultural theorists to examine:
- How dominant narratives about womanhood are constructed and contested.
- The role of feminist storytelling in expanding collective imagination.
- What it means to build feminist culture in contexts where it is actively suppressed.
- Digital spaces as sites of both constraint and creative possibility.

Format
The event will take place entirely online, with sessions running across two time zones to allow participation from the Americas, Europe, and Africa. Sessions will be recorded and captioned.
This event is open to all network members and their guests. No registration fee applies.
